The Department of Orthopaedic, Trauma & Spine Surgery of Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore runs under the Chairmanship of Dr. S. Rajasekaran since 1991. Over this period of time the Department developed to gain international reputation for practicing the ‘High Quality – High Volume – Affordable Cost’ model of health care.

In the process, department helped to provide, accessible, affordable tertiary level healthcare to the masses. In doing so, this institution has become a model unit for most part of the developing world and resource centre for the developed world. Numerous training fellowships and scholarships have been set up.

Dr. S. Rajasekaran and his team members have recognized the need to form a Trust with the idea of providing Conferences, Workshops, Seminars, Master Classes & teaching and training to the interested Orthopaedic Surgeons and Young Trainees. To fulfil this goal, they wanted to create a special Trust “Ganga Orthopaedic Educational Foundation” (GOEF TRUST). It will be the arm through which the educational and patient centred charitable activities for the unit would be continued.

This Deed of Trust was created and executed at Coimbatore on 29.01.2016.
